For this test, electrodes are attached to your upper body/chest area that are hooked to a battery operated device, to record EKG activity while attached.

MCT/ Mobile Cardiac Testing

This is a battery powered device, that is used to monitor your heart rhythm continuously. When it detects an abnormal rhythm, it saves it in its memory and your clinician is alerted.

What You Should Know…

For Holter monitors

  • There is a 24 hour and a 48 hour test, your doctor will determine which one fits your needs.

  • You can go about your day and perform all daily activities while wearing the Holter, make sure to record any symptoms, if you experience any.

  • Try to stay away from radioactivity, including microwaves.

MCT/Mobile Cardiac Testing

  • You can shower with this device, however, you should never submerge the device in water.

  • While monitoring, if you would like to mark a symptom, simply press the red button for 3 seconds until you feel the device buzz.

  • Charge the device every 3-5 days. Always remove device from your body to charge.

  • If you notice an amber light flashing, please charge your device right away. Please keep the charger in the box provided to you when not in use.
